here are a few
rants from my third website, mostly about cyber
space problems. others are just new :) i hope you
won't get lost with all the content :) rant#1
: guestbook surfers
more & more teens/people are wanting to make
their own webpages but they don't have any idea
of what layout to use on it. they surf the net,
checking out sites, thinking that maybe they
would give them ideas. some sites get to impress
them so much that they'd want to copy the whole
thing. when they do, they 'bite off' the original
site. the problem with this is that people may
mistaken the original site for the biter, and the
biter's site as the original one :( this is one
of the biggest problems with webmasters /
webmistresses today. we should be able to think
of our own original layout - since we are all
unique. with our own creative minds, we can be
able to make our own layout ideas, express
ourselves, something that shows what we really
are.
rant #2 : being left-out
hey, if it weren't for jannie, i wouldn't have
thought of this subject! being left-out, hmmm ...
for example, me .... i have a friend of a
different country who speaks another language.
she has a friend who speaks the same language,
too. this happened everyday last year. we have
this 'break' or 'recess' after every two hours.
when it is recess, they talk together in that
particular language, with me staring around ...
just trying to understand what the heck they were
talking about. so i decided to daydream a bit.
look somewhere where it looks heavenly, and think
of positive things. i even listen to a walkman
... so that at least i have 'music' that reminds
me of the philippines ... then, when i turn
around, they aren't there ... i was left-out, in
the middle of the hallway, all alone, with no one
to talk to .... dang ... i felt sooo stupid those
times. but not only that, there was once when we
met a new friend, who speaks english - then she
[my classmate before, not the new girl] began
speaking of her schedule. i already knew a bit of
it, so i commented on that [well, that's an
improvement ... at least it's in english ...],
you might think that it's better ... no.
it was more of worse. she even had the
nerve to say 'was i talking to you?' ... like,
dang ... why does this have to happen? why don't
you let someone in the conversation for once,
huh? [oh, sorry, i was *talking* to that left-out
maker] ... this is sooo unfair for other people.
they want to feel 'in', feel good 'coz they know
that someone listens to them. if we realize that
we weren't needed in the conversation, it really
hurts. at least accept a little comment, and
react on it, so that you make someone really
happy. don't snob them - if he/she is your
bestest friend, well, take care of his/her
feelings. one day you'll never know that you
already killed one's spirit to live. [yeah, i
know, i exaggerated, but this is a very serious
topic. if you are that person who left me out in
the hallway all alone, and you know who you are,
and sure that i was talking about you, ponder.
ponder on what you did, how you destroyed my
trust, and how hard it is too keep up with being
left-out ... i'm not mad. i'm just miserably
shattered.]
going up? ... continue ranting »
